Description
Join CAST and the Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) for a free public webinar on how artificial intelligence and bioinformatics are reshaping in vitro biology research.
Two speakers will present complementary perspectives on applying computational tools to plant and animal in vitro systems:
**Dr. Hans Bethge** (PhenoLytics GmbH) — *Beyond Intuition: Digital Phenotyping and AI-Assisted Media Design in Plant In Vitro Biology*
Dr. Bethge will discuss how imaging technologies and machine learning are enabling a data-driven approach to plant tissue culture, including automated phenotyping, ML-based physiological disorder detection, and ADAM — an open-access platform for AI-driven optimization of culture media.
**Matthew Gruner** (University of Nevada, Reno) — *From Synapse to Single-Cell: Improving Universal Cell Embeddings via High-Resolution Arthropod Connectomics*
Gruner will present on how whole-brain connectomes from fruit flies and ants are being integrated with cross-species single-cell atlases to link neuronal connectivity to cellular function, using tools including SATURN and SCENIC.
Moderated by Deepika Chauhan, Chair of the SIVB Membership Committee. Free and open to all. Designed for researchers and trainees interested in data-driven approaches in in vitro biology.
